Keeping up with technology is a lot of work. Luckily, we enjoy wading through the noise just to find the gems of awesomeness sprinkled throughout. Fusion Radar is our gift to you, Current or Potential Client, so that you can enjoy all of the awesome without any of the drudgery. Unwrap it each week, and know that you're loved by the geeks and pixel-pushers at Agency Fusion.
Page Layers
This one took us a few minutes to digest. Most PSD conversion tools attempt to simplify the process of going from a Photoshop file to HTML. Page Layers, however, is a tool to help you go the opposite direction: from HTML to a layered PSD. Although this might seem counterintuitive at first, we do think it could be helpful in a scenario where you've got to make design changes to an existing website but you don't have the source PSDs.
Mandrill
Mandrill is a transactional email system for apps. Given the challenges of delivering email from an app without having the messages flagged as spam, using 3rd-party tools like Mandrill or SendGrid is a huge headache reliever for web developers.
Xiki
If you use a shell console much, you should take a look at Xiki. If you don't use one much, you might get inspired to use one more after watching a screencast.
Glances
For monitoring a Linux/GNU or BSD based system, Glances is worth a look.
Yeoman
We haven't used Yeoman, but it came up on our radar so we thought we'd share a link in case it benefits you. According to the site, "Yeoman is a robust and opinionated set of tools, libraries, and a workflow that can help developers quickly build beautiful, compelling web apps."
Inbox Pause
Love your inbox or hate it, there are times when a break is healthy. Inbox Pause is one way to get that break, assuming you're using Gmail.
Unroll.me
While we're talking about the inbox, Unroll.me takes a different approach to inbox management by allowing you to create a "rollup" or daily digest of email messages such as subscriptions.
This is Responsive
For designers and developers wanting to learn more about responsive web design, Brad Frost created a bookmark-worthy site with tips, patterns, resources, and news.
Google Course Builder
We've built a few learning management systems for customers over the years so Google's new Course Builder caught our eye. Looks like it's pretty early stuff, but it's worth keeping an eye on it to see if it develops into something worth using in the future.
Pointer Pointer
This is really random, but it got a few laughs during our meeting: www.pointerpointer.com
